Skin diseases
These are usually caused by feeding meat or too rich or oily food.
A white incrustation appears on the skin resembling dandruff and inflammation sometimes sets ill.
It is sufficient usually to change the food, giving a plain diet and some vegetables and fresh fruit, withholding all oily substances.
Apply to the skin a mixture consisting of equal parts glycerine and water or rub on a little calendula, salve or vaseline. See that the bird is supplied with moist food and water (unless it is a very young bird) and also some salty food. A little sulphur in the food will help to purify the blood.
