Budgie parakeets > Cage birds > American Yellow bird
American Yellow birdThis is often called the wild American canary, or American Goldfinch. It is a beautiful lemon yellow bird, with black cap and white and black wings. It not only is very pretty but has many graceful attitudes when in the cage. The song is sometimes quite pleasant, though not by any means equal to the canary, and he has not the ability of learning the tunes of other birds. The seed which is fed these birds should be the same as that fed a canary, but it should be thoroughly soaked. They are also quite fond of crushed hemp and maw seed. They are quite sociable and really desirable birds in the aviary. |
